with the price on the page

Heap is a serious product analytics tool. You just cannot find out what it costs without asking.

What it costs to find out

what will this cost me?

Both pricing pages, opened on the same afternoon. Here is every move, both ways.

Heap
  1. 1 Open the pricing page
  2. 2 Find four tiers and no figure against any of them
  3. 3 Free stops at 10,000 sessions a month
  4. 4 Install the snippet first, and then Growth will estimate
  5. 5 Pro and Premier say contact us
  6. 6 Book the call and describe your traffic
  7. 7 Wait for the quote
  8. 🥱 You find out what it costs at the end of a week spent finding out
Tiny Funnel
  1. 1 Open the pricing page
  2. 2 $10 a month per active funnel
  3. 3 Start the trial without a card
  4. 💡 You knew before you clicked anything

built for answers, not data scientists

Tiny Funnel is obsessed with getting you answers as quickly as possible. The funnel is the page that loads when you log in, and any visitor's whole journey is one click away.

See your funnel from every angle

The main view is always your funnel. You choose which visitors and from when and where.

See a visitor's full journey

Where they came from, which campaign, every page they touched, and whether they bounced, came back later, or converted.

what each one does

Heap against Tiny Funnel, on the things that decide it.

Capability Heap Heap Tiny Funnel Tiny Funnel
What it costs Heap Four tiers, all metered on monthly sessions, with no figure published against any of them. Free is capped at 10,000 sessions a month. Tiny Funnel $10 a month per active funnel. No seats, no event tiers, and pausing a funnel stops the bill.
What the bill scales with Heap Monthly sessions, so a good traffic month is also a more expensive one. Tiny Funnel The number of active funnels you are running. Traffic does not change it.
Time to a first funnel Heap Install the snippet, let autocapture fill up, then label the events the funnel needs. Their own onboarding suggests a core set of about 12 to 20. Tiny Funnel One script tag, then click through your own site with the recorder on. Live in about two minutes.
How a step is defined Heap An event definition applied to autocaptured data, which can be created later and applied backwards. Tiny Funnel A URL, a page state, or an element that contains particular text. Recorded by clicking, so nothing has to be instrumented first.
A question you did not plan for Heap Genuinely strong, and the reason to buy it. Last month is already captured, so you define the event now and look backwards. Tiny Funnel The funnel is the page. A question outside it is a question for a different tool, and we would rather say so.
What the dashboard opens on Heap A workspace of reports, definitions and saved analyses. Tiny Funnel The funnel. It is the page, not a report you go and find.
A step your backend confirms Heap Custom events posted through their APIs, which is engineering work. Tiny Funnel Post the event with your own user id and it lands on the right visitor's journey.
What you are buying Heap A product analytics platform. Autocapture, funnels, retention, cohorts, on one captured dataset. Tiny Funnel Funnel analytics, and nothing else.

which one is yours

Both answer real questions. They are not the same question.

Stay on Heap if
  • The questions you ask change every month and you cannot predict them
  • Retention and cohorts matter to you as much as the funnel does
  • Retroactive data is worth more to you than a published price
  • 10,000 sessions a month covers you, and free is the budget
  • Somebody there already maintains your event definitions
Switch to Tiny Funnel if
  • You want to know what it costs before you talk to anybody
  • The question you keep asking is about the same handful of pages
  • Nobody here is going to label 12 to 20 events first
  • You sell software, a course or another virtual good
  • Your traffic is going up and you would rather the bill did not
Heap

what Heap does better

  • Autocapture is the best version of this idea. One snippet, and every click, tap, pageview and form fill is recorded from the moment it goes on
  • Retroactive analysis is real and no amount of planning ahead beats it. Define an event today, run it against last month
  • It removes the taxonomy-first problem entirely. Nothing has to be instrumented before it can be measured
  • Funnels, retention and cohorts in one place, on the same captured data
  • The free tier is a tier rather than a trial, up to 10,000 sessions a month
  • If the question you will ask next month is one you cannot predict today, this is the tool built for exactly that

What it costs to find out

The honest comparison here is not feature against feature, it is how long it takes to get a number.

With Tiny Funnel the number is $10 a month per active funnel, and the trial runs seven days without a card. With Heap you install the snippet, let it fill up, and then Growth will estimate. That is a reasonable process for a company with a procurement cycle. It is a strange one if you were going to put it on a card this afternoon.

None of that makes Heap expensive. It might be cheap for you. The point is that you cannot know yet, and knowing is the thing a small team is usually shopping for.

The one thing worth knowing before you compare

Autocapture removes the instrumentation, not the labelling. Every click and pageview is captured from the moment the snippet lands, which is the real advantage and we would not argue with it. But a funnel is built from event definitions, and those are still yours to create and maintain. Heap's own onboarding suggests starting with a core set of about 12 to 20.

Recording a funnel here is a different shape of work. You turn the recorder on and walk your own signup the way a customer would, the landing page, the pricing page, the signup form, the welcome screen. That walk is the funnel. Nothing gets named and no taxonomy gets designed, because there is only ever one funnel's worth of it to design.

That trade is the whole product. It is a good trade when the question is always about the same handful of pages, and a bad one the first time you need to ask something you never planned for.

The short version

Heap is the better tool if you cannot predict next month's question.

This is the better tool if you can, and you would like to know the price today.

frequently asked questions

How much does Heap cost?

Heap does not publish a figure. Checked on 31 August 2026, the pricing page lists four tiers, Free, Growth, Pro and Premier, all metered on monthly sessions, with no number against any of them. Free is capped at 10,000 sessions a month. Growth quotes an estimate once you have installed the snippet, and Pro and Premier say contact us. That is a normal way to sell to larger companies. It is also a hard stop if you were hoping to spend $10 a month and get on with your day.

Is Tiny Funnel a replacement for autocapture?

No, and it would be dishonest to say so. Click capture here is an opt-in switch, off by default, and when you turn it on it records clicks on interactive elements only. Heap's autocapture is a broader thing entirely, and if retroactive analysis of everything is what you need, Heap does it and we do not.

Can I run both at the same time?

Yes. The two scripts do not interfere, and keeping Heap while you find out whether the funnel view tells you what you needed is the sensible move rather than a hedge.

Will the two tools show me the same numbers?

Probably not, and the gap is worth understanding. A Heap funnel counts events matching the definitions you labelled. A Tiny Funnel funnel counts visitors reaching a step, where a step can be a URL, a page state, or an element containing particular text. Those are different questions, so both tools can be right and still print different numbers.

What does Tiny Funnel not do?

Retention, cohorts, session replay, heatmaps, warehouse export, and autocapture of everything you might one day want. Tiny Funnel does funnel analytics. How visitors get to your site, which of them buy, and how far and how often each cohort gets down the funnel, with the journeys behind it. If you want a platform, Heap is the better answer and we would rather tell you that than sell you this.

Cookie-less means no consent banner, right?

Not something we can promise. Consent obligations depend on where you are and on everything else running on your site, and Tiny Funnel does keep a visitor id in local storage. What we can tell you is what it does. No cookies, no fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking, nothing shared with ad networks, and typed values never captured.

the bottom line

Two honest summaries, then the shortest way to decide.

Heap Heap

Heap is built on one genuinely good idea, that you should not have to decide what to measure before you measure it. If your questions change month to month and you want last month's data to already hold the answer, that is worth paying for, and worth having the sales conversation about.

Tiny Funnel Tiny Funnel

Tiny Funnel is funnel analytics. Where visitors come from, which of them buy, and how far and how often each cohort gets down your funnel, with the journeys behind it. It is $10 a month per active funnel, the price is on the page, and it is cookie-less, so everyone who loaded the page is in the number.
